DID MAYOR BASTE KNOW ABOUT THE CONSTITUTIONAL CONFLICT-OF-INTEREST RULE?
(Congress of the Philippines)
(ABS-CBN)
UNSA MAN ANG CONSTITUTIONAL RULE?
Under Article VII, Section 13 of the 1987 Constitution, ang President ug Vice President dili mahimong direktang o indirectly mo-participate sa negosyo samtang anaa sila sa office.
Dili usab sila mahimong adunay financial interest sa government contracts, franchises o special privileges nga gihatag sa gobyerno. Kinahanglan usab nila “strictly avoid conflict of interest.” (GMA Network)
Former Sandiganbayan Presiding Justice Amparo Cabotaje-Tang explained during the trial that these restrictions also cover situations where an official may benefit from a business indirectly, bisan lahi nga tawo ang naa sa legal documents. (Congress of the Philippines)
THE BIG QUESTION
Ug kung mapamatud-an nga adunay knowledge, unsa man ang legal significance niini?
